I’m Infatuated With This Highlighter by Rare Beauty

Hi, it’s Chrissy again with more makeup tips!
If you don’t know me, I work the front here at The Studio O, but I’m also a licensed cosmetologist with a love for makeup.

These are my personal tips, but we have a talented makeup artist crew here by the names of Angie and Laiza!

I can’t stress this enough. I have been looking for the perfect powder highlighter that looks like really glowy skin – not like you have a chunky glitter on.

Since I have oily skin, I tend to stay away from anything too creamy or alcohol based. (alcohol has the potential to cause dryness which means more oil production)

I came across this highlighter just looking around in Sephora: Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez – Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter. The texture is super light and soft. It’s a really fine particle powder, which means it looks more glowy instead of glittery. The finer the powder, the more light has an opportunity to reflect onto those particles. Think: glitter vs. shimmer. Shimmer is a finer texture than glitter.

I got the Shade Exhilarate. It’s the perfect amount of gold without being overly yellow.

I apply it with my fingers and tap to blend it in. Mainly concentrating it on the high points of the cheeks, the bridge of the nose, cupid’s bow, and on the inner corners of the eyes. It’s a gorgeous way to make your skin look illuminated and fresh. It’s not so often that I am this infatuated with a powder highlighter, so I know I had to write about it this week.

Until Next week,
Chrissy.
